A winter Kumaon classic. We loop the lakes — Bhimtal, Sattal, Naukuchiatal — then climb through pine forest to Mukteshwar's orchard roads at 2,286 metres, with a real chance of first snow at the top. Cold mornings, warm chai, and winter sunrise over Nanda Devi if the skies play along.
